Diversified Technique

Diversified technique is the most commonly used adjustment technique by chiropractors.  It is characterized by a high-velocity, low amplitude thrust.  The object is to restore proper movement and alignment of the spine and joint dysfunction.  Before any adjusting an analysis of your (the patient) the spine is performed.  This can initially involve a case history and perhaps spinal imaging.  Subsequently, static and dynamic palpation of the spinal joints will be evaluated, as well as a leg check to check for spinal imbalance.

With the misalignment of one or more spinal bones identified, a specific manual thrust is administrated.  The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids of the joint.
